GOOD LUCK
It's the end of May and the end of the spring course. We can see all over the university how students are in a mess. Students started to prepare for their final exams and work hard. The stress is everywhere due to the approaching of the finals. Most of the students are visiting their instructors twice a day to make sure that they understand the subject and to ask if they will get high scores. It is important for each and every student to prepare well before their finals and study for each subject at least 2 weeks before to make sure that they understand everything and they don’t need any help from their instructors. Some students make groups and sit in the library of the university and discuss their subjects together to gain extra useful information from each other. Moreover, some students feel ill because of the stress due to the approach of their finals and from the fear of getting low scores. I hope all students not to get frustrated and to work hard to end up with very high scores.
Good luck to all :)

GUST Spreads Awareness on Crime Prevention
The Research Advisory Committee (RAC) of the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at The Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST) held a seminar entitled Crime Prevention and Criminal Behavior that is led by Dr. Muhammad Hanif, a renowned scholar of Criminology and Law. Dr. Hanif is the Principal of the National Law College in Lahore and Advocate High Court and Federal Shariat Court of Pakistan. He attained his Ph.D. from London University and is a Member of the English Bar.
Law and Order Debate
In the seminar, Dr. Hanif discussed the law and order debate in recent times; which is an important area of debate. According to Dr. Noreen Abdullah-Khan, Criminologist and Sociologist and Chair of the RAC, “there has been a recent surge of interest in the law and order debate, with particular focus on evocative topics of violence and its cause, as well as crime more generally. Global perceptions have been varied, leading to strong, intellectual cross-cultural dialogue on the most effective means of justice in the current societies.  In light of this debate, Research Advisory Committee within the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences invited Dr. Mohammed Hanif.”
The seminar was well received; it has provided the faculty with “meaningful, intellectual debate on vital law and order issues in the contemporary world,” said Dr. Abdullah-Khan.
